Spent some time last night watching Narendra Modi speak at the India Today Conclave, and I must say I was completely awestruck. The man's much talked about confidence and conviction are sure to soften even his biggest detractors. Keeping his infamous past behind him, Modi has single-handedly managed to transform the face of Gujarat over the past decade. In spite of my apprehensions for the party which he belongs to, NaMo is my choice for the country's top job.

Woke up last morning to Sonia Shenoy announcing that Tata Global Beverage and Tata Coffee stocks will be up since Tata Starbucks' first store in India was opening later in the evening. The stock tips proved to be useless as usual, but it gave me an agenda for the evening- to go visit the Starbucks launch. Though it was a media and VIPs only event, didn't think twice before boarding a train to CST and walking it up to the beautiful Horniman Gardens area. And indeed, it sure turned out to be a wise decision!

Last night, more than seven million people, including myself, witnessed online, an unbelievable, death-defying, adrenaline fueled, record breaking free fall from the edge of space, by a man called Felix Baumgartner. This man rose to a height of more than 1.2 lakh feet above the surface of Earth to jump unassisted at a speed in excess of Mach 1.

Buying gadgets for myself is one of the temptations I indulge in, at least once a year. It comes with its own share of excitement and adventure. My last purchase was the Samsung Galaxy Tab, which was my first Android device. Having played around with various versions right from Froyo to Jelly Bean (on cyanogen mod), on a 7 inch display, I felt the need for a more pocket friendly companion, considering that the phone I used was a modest Samsung Star which was close to three years old. So, after a couple of weeks of deliberation, I got myself a Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
